Cedar Key is one of those rare places in Florida which has managed to maintain a sense of “Old Florida”… where there is little traffic and people are laid-back and friendly. A tranquil oasis where stress is not part of the vocabulary. Change takes place at a slow pace on this island. Being off the beaten track and not a typical tourist hotspot, Cedar Key is an ideal place for those seeking rest and relaxation. Some label it as a little drinking island with a fishing problem. Don't let the small size of Cedar Key fool you. Here in Cedar Keys Docks you’ll find a variety of shops that sell just about everything… art galleries, a bookstore, clothing store, gift/souvenir shops, grocery store, and hardware store, just to name a few. Although the main business district in Cedar Key is located on Dock St. and Second St., be sure to check out the surrounding streets where you’ll find additional shops, galleries, etc. If you don’t find what you need there, chances are you’ll find it in one of the stores along SR 24.
